Dr. Thaw Sint was born and grew up in Myanmar (formerly Burma). After completing high school in Rangoon, Dr. Sint pursued an undergraduate degree in Biology from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then went on to obtain a medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN where he also completed residency training in Internal Medicine. This was followed by further fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC.
Dr. Thaw Sint joined Austin Pulmonary Consultants PA in 2007 where he has been a partner since 2009. Dr. Sint is board certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Due to his special interest in sleep disorders especially sleep apnea, Dr. Sint sought and obtained a board certification in Sleep Medicine in 2013.
When Dr. Thaw Sint is not working in the clinic or hospital, he enjoys exercising, gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with his family. Dr. Sint is passionate about community, environmental and social justice issues. He has served on the board of directors for Austin-based Dream Come True Foundation which aims to lift promising individuals and families out of poverty.
In recognition of his community service and caring for his patients, Dr. Thaw Sint was awarded 2012 Frist Humanitarian Award by St. David’s/HCA Partnership. Dr. Sint continues to strive for excellence in providing a caring, competent, up-to-date, and individualized care to his patients.
